Mott, Ernest “Ernie” / “Sonny”

It is with great sadness that we announce the suddenly passing of Ernest “Ernie” / “Sonny” Mott on March 11, 2026, in Niagara Falls, at the age of 86. Reunited with his beloved wife Ann (2009). Devoted father of Lesley (Steve) and Matthew (Becky). Predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Ellen, his sister Irene, brother Kyle, mother-in-law Isobel, sisters-in-law Frankie, Connie, Gladys and Helen and brother-in-law Linus. He is survived by his sister Cheryl (Bob), Maureen (late Billy), Debbie (Derek) and his brother Dale. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was a transport truck diver for many years before enjoying his retirement. He enjoyed meeting people and making them laugh with his great sense of humour, having a Molson Canadian and watching the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remember by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
